AirSync To Memory Card (Experimental Feature)
AirSync to Memory Card is an experimental feature that we have included in the latest doubleTwist update. It's currently under validation in our lab but many users have asked to test this feature. Because it's still under validation, there are some known issues that we will be addressing in future releases. Many of these issues are due to Android not having a standardized way of implementing dual storage on devices. Each manufacturer has implemented dual storage using a slightly different method. In fact a manufacturer may switch methods from firmware revision to firmware revision.Known Issues:
- Volume labels switched
- Content previously synced to old volume then synced again to new volume.
- Issues with Motorola Xoom
- Missing playlists
- Podcasts being categorized as "Other" and placed in Video section.
- The labels for the internal storage and the memory card may be switched. If this happens, select "Internal" if you wish to sync to the memory card and "Memory card" if you wish to sync to the internal storage location.
- Once the volume has been switched, syncing the same content to the other volume may result in an error. You may want to erase the content from the other volume if you want to consolidate everything into the same volume.
- AirSync on the the Motorola Xoom will not present a "Sync Volume:" selector because Motorola's implementation of the SD card is read-only. Therefore, syncing to the SD card is not possible.
- After switching volumes, playlists aren't appearing. You may need to reset the doubleTwist library by tapping "Reset doubleTwist" to rescan for playlists.
- After switching volumes, audio podcasts are categorized as "Other" podcasts and video podcasts are placed in the Video section. This is a side effect of resetting the doubleTwist database. The workaround is to delete these podcasts and resync.
