Move to SD: Why doesn't doubleTwist support moving app to SD ("App2SD")?

The Move to SD feature in Android is flawed in various ways, which is why Google has not enabled this feature by default. The primary reasons that doubleTwist Player cannot enable Move to SD are:

1. Widgets: When the SD card is made unavailable (unmounted or ejected), the doubleTwist widgets would be removed from the home screen and would not be available again until after a reboot.


2. Services: Apps stored on the SD card cannot automatically start services. Services (such as AirSync and AirTwist) would have to be manually started each time.


3. Database Corruption: Using doubleTwist from an SD card would increase the likelihood of database corruption as the Android OS kills apps that are running from an SD card when the device is mounted to a Mac or PC.

We hope that Google will address these issues in future versions of the Android OS.
