Managing your podcasts with doubleTwist for Windows

1. The Subscription Preferences screen controls automatic updating and location of your Subscription folder.


1. Click on “Subscriptions” in the left hand navigation and then click on “Change preferences” in the upper right hand corner.

2. The Subscriptions Preferences screen will appear. You can also get to this screen by selecting the “Preferences...” option in the Edit menu and then clicking on the “Subscriptions” tab.

3. You can tell doubleTwist how many episodes to keep by selecting from the drop down menu on the right. You can also select “Never delete episodes” if you want to keep all episodes regardless of age or played status.

4. You can tell doubleTwist not to automatically update subscriptions by unchecking the “Update subscriptions automatically” checkbox.

5. You can also selectively update podcasts by checking and unchecking the checkboxes.

7. To change where your podcast subscriptions are stored, click on the Folder icon.

8. A “Browse For Folder” dialog box will appear, letting you select a different location for your podcasts.

2. Viewing New Items


1. Click on “Subscriptions” in the left hand navigation and your subscriptions will show up with a “New” count on the lower right.

3. Manually Deleting Podcasts.


1. To manually delete a podcast episode, right click over the episode and select “Delete Podcast” from the contextual menu.

2. You can also delete a podcast episode by selecting it and then clicking on the “Remove” button on the bottom of the screen.

3. The “Remove episode” confirmation screen will appear.
   
4. The podcast episodes will be removed and a “Download” button will now appear so that you may re-download the episode if desired.
   
4. Manually Downloading Older Episodes


1. To manually download a podcast episode, right click over the episode and select “Download Podcast” from the contextual menu.

2. You can also click on the download button to the right or the download button on the bottom of the screen.

3. You will see a progress indicator once the podcast episode is downloading.

4. To view detailed download progress, got to the File menu and select “Show Downloads...”.

5. The “Downloads” window will appear.

6. After the podcasts have downloaded, you can listen to the podcast by clicking on the Play icon next to the podcast.

5. Manually Refreshing A Podcast Subscription


1. The doubleTwist application will check for new episodes every 30 minutes but if you want to manually check, you click on “Subscriptions” on the left hand navigation and then right click over the podcast subscription and select “Refresh”.

2. You can also click on the podcast subscription image and then click on the “Refresh” button on the bottom of the screen.

3. If any new episodes are found, they will automatically be downloaded.

6. Unsubscribing From A Podcast


1. Click on “Subscriptions” in the left hand navigation and then right-click over the podcast that you want to unsubscribe from.

2. You can also unsubscribe by clicking on the image of the podcast and then clicking on the “Unsubscribe” button on the bottom of the screen.

3. The “Confirm Unsubscribe” screen will appear. You can delete already downloaded episodes by checking the “Delete downloaded episodes” checkbox.

4. The podcast will be removed from your Subscriptions.

7. Unsubscribing From A Podcast


1. When a podcast subscription is set to auto update, there are additional contextual menu options available. “Allow automatic delete” is on by default but you can unselect it if you want to keep this episode regardless of your auto-delete settings.

2. Conversely, if there is a episode that you do not ever want to download, regardless of your auto-update settings, you can unselect the “Allow automatic download” setting (normally on by default).
