Subscribing to podcasts with doubleTwist for Windows

There are three ways to get podcast subscriptions. You can search for a podcast in the doubleTwist search engine, import a list of subscriptions from your Google Reader account, or you can manually enter a feed URL.

1. Search for a podcast


1. Click on Podcast Search on the left hand navigation.

2. You'll get the main search window. Enter a search term and click on “Search”.

3. Scroll through results and find the podcast you want. Click “Next” for the next page of results if you don't see it on this page.

4. Once you find the podcast, click on the image or title.

5. The subscription screen will appear with information on the podcast along with a list of episodes that can be downloaded. Click on “Subscribe with doubleTwist” to add this subscription.

6. The subscription will be added to your left hand navigation.

7. You'll also be taken to the main screen for this podcast. The latest three podcasts will automatically download. A progress indicator will appear next to each downloading podcast. You can click “Cancel” to stop a particular podcast from downloading at this time

8. To view download progress, got to the File menu and select “Show Downloads...”.

9. The “Downloads” window will appear.

10. After the podcasts have downloaded, you can listen to the podcast by clicking on the Play icon next to the podcast.

2. Import from Google Reader


1. Click on “Subscriptions” in the left hand navigation.

2. Click on “Import from Google Reader”.

3. Enter your Google email account credentials and click “Next”. This information will only be used once to authenticate and import your subscriptions. It will not be stored.

4. Select which podcast subscriptions you want to import and click “Import”.

5. You will get a notification that the import was successful. Click “Done” to dismiss the dialog box.

6. The subscription will be added to your left hand navigation.

7. You'll also be taken to the main screen for this podcast. The latest three podcasts will automatically download. A progress indicator will appear next to each downloading podcast. You can click “Cancel” to stop a particular podcast from downloading at this time.

8. To view download progress, got to the File menu and select “Show Downloads...”.

9. The “Downloads” window will appear.

10. After the podcasts have downloaded, you can listen to the podcast by clicking on the Play icon next to the podcast.

3. Manually subscribe to a podcast


1. Select the “Subscribe to Podcast...” option from the Library menu.

2. Enter the URL of the podcast feed that you want to subscribe to.

3. The subscription will be added to your left hand navigation.

4. You'll also be taken to the main screen for this podcast. The latest three podcasts will automatically download. A progress indicator will appear next to each downloading podcast. You can click “Cancel” to stop a particular podcast from downloading at this time.

5. To view download progress, got to the File menu and select “Show Downloads...”.

6. The “Downloads” window will appear.

7. After the podcasts have downloaded, you can listen to the podcast by clicking on the Play icon next to the podcast.
